Burundi Project
KWI was commissioned to conduct the external evaluation of the Drinking Water Income Protection Program in the city of Bujumbura. This program is governed by the Public Service Delegation Contract signed on February 13, 2017, between REGIDESO (Burundi Water and Electricity Production and Distribution Authority) and a technical partner.
Objectives of the External Evaluation:
The external evaluation aims to:
- Examine the program's progress in light of the obligations and commitments of REGIDESO and the Delegatee defined in the contract.
- Analyze the evolution of performance indicators during the program period, with a focus on:

- Network efficiency (reduction of water losses). Increase in drinking water sales.
Specific Program Objectives:
- Reduction in the Non-Revenue Water (NRW) rate Increase in Billing
KWI's Role:
- As an external evaluator, KWI provided: An in-depth analysis of performance data and compliance with contractual commitments.
- Formulation of strategic recommendations to improve program effectiveness.
- A detailed evaluation report presenting the results, identified gaps, and areas for improvement to optimize water loss management and maximize REGIDESO's revenue.


Mali project
KWI's Role: Before the project, KWI played a key role in preparing and structuring the Drinking Water Revenue Protection Program. Its interventions included: Initial diagnostic analysis to identify the main causes of water losses and opportunities for improvement. Definition of operational objectives and performance indicators (reduction of NFE, increase in billing). Strategic support in developing action plans and monitoring mechanisms. As an external evaluator, KWI then provided: In-depth analysis of the program's compliance with contractual commitments. Performance evaluation in terms of network efficiency and increased drinking water sales. The formulation of recommendations to optimize water loss management and improve SOMAGEP's profitability. These actions ensured effective program implementation while ensuring rigorous monitoring and strategic adjustments to achieve the set objectives.
